Today we tried to prepare a dish that was conceptualized by my Spanish grandmother when she was out of food one day and scrambled a few ingredients together. This is a simple pasta dish, which we made even simpler by substracting the pork, in which you first make the sauce, and then cook the spagetti in the sauce (as opposed to cooking the pasta in boiling salted water and then adding it to the sauce after draining it). It's really amazing - the spaghetti soaks up the sauce as it's cooking in it, so it's kind of like risotto in that way. My family has been cooking this meal for decades and have become masters of it. I have made the dish twice now and obviously have a lot to catch up. It was still tasty, but not as it should be.
